Sindhu advances at Indonesia Open; Lakshya, Srikanth crash out

PV Sindhu battled past Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan 25-23, 21-16 to reach the second round of the Indonesia Open and is likely to face world No. 1 An Se-young next. It was otherwise a disappointing day for India, with Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen, Malvika Bansod, Treesa-Gayatri, and Dhruv-Tanisha exiting, while Hariharan Amsakarunan and MR Arjun advanced.
