Churchill's 1948 painting sold for 716,800; hammer proceeds to charity

Winston Churchill's artwork, Amaryllis Lily, fetched an impressive 716,800 at auction, with proceeds directed toward the Churchill Fellowship. This funding will bolster the Making Space for the Arts initiative, aimed at increasing public participation in the arts. The piece, which has a fascinating legacy, was originally given to Churchill's daughter before being donated. This auction not only exceeded expectations but also empowers the charity to support significant artistic community initiatives.
