Siddaramaiah supporters protest his decision to step down; emotional scenes outside residence

Supporters across Karnataka protested Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's decision to resign. Emotional scenes unfolded outside his official residence as crowds urged him to stay. In Shivamogga, protests included tyre burning. A silent protest was also held in Yadgir. Law Minister H K Patil confirmed Siddaramaiah informed ministers of his decision and that Deputy CM D K Shivakumar will be his successor following party instructions.
