IPL 2026: BCCI tightens catch rules, Impact Player set to stay till 2027

The BCCI has issued a strong reminder to IPL captains regarding catch regulations. Fielders must now demonstrate complete control over the ball and their movement for a catch to be valid. This rule will be enforced more strictly. The Impact Player rule will also continue for at least two more seasons, despite player concerns.
