Paul Lyngdoh takes oath as Meghalaya minister after quitting UDP for NPP

Paul Lyngdoh was sworn in as a Cabinet minister in Meghalaya, marking his transition from UDP to NPP. Governor C H Vijayashankar officiated the ceremony in which Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma participated. The departure of eight UDP MLAs to the BJP and three to NPP highlights the party's current instability. Metbah Lyngdoh, the president of UDP, resigned prior to Lyngdoh's swearing-in, decreasing his party's representation.
