Dilwali Diwali: Mihir Ahuja, Manoj Pahwa and Neelu Kohli starrer festive family film to premiere on Netflix on November 5
Netflix is set to bring a festive family story to audiences this Diwali with Dilwali Diwali, a new film starring Mihir Ahuja, Manoj Pahwa, Neelu Kohli and Aurra Bhatnagar. Produced by Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT), the film will premiere on the streaming platform on November 5, 2026, and explores the emotional complexities of intergenerational relationships, family expectations and the meaning of home. The story follows Ansh Sikka, played by Mihir Ahuja, who returns home after years of working abroad. Having bought his middle-class Punjabi parents a new high-rise apartment, Ansh believes he has given them a better life. However, his homecoming during Diwali brings an unexpected realisation: upgrading a house does not necessarily change what makes it feel like home. As the Sikkas come together for the festival, their differing ideas of happiness and success lead to moments of humour, tenderness and emotional reflection. While Ansh wants to provide his parents with greater comforts, they remain attached to the memories and familiarity of their old life. The film explores the gap between a child's desire to give their parents the best and a parent's understanding of what truly matters. Written by Ritu Mago and directed by Ritesh Menon, Dilwali Diwali marks another collaboration between TTT and Netflix following Greater Kalesh and Musafir Cafe. Speaking about his character, Mihir Ahuja said, Anshs journey in Dilwali Diwali comes from a place of love. I think thats what makes the story so relatable. We all want to do the best for our families, but sometimes, in trying to give them more, we forget to understand what truly makes them happy. TTT has beautifully captured these nuances with humour and heart, and Im excited for audiences to experience the film on Netflix this Diwali and see a little bit of their own families in the Sikkas. Its about the memories youve built, the people youve shared your life with, and the little things that make a place your own. Children may have a different idea of what makes a good life, but the love behind both perspectives is the same. In Dilwali Diwali, TTT and Netflix bring this familiar generational dynamic to life in a way that is deeply heartfelt. I hope audiences enjoy watching this story with their families on Netflix this Diwali and find their own meaning of home in it. With its focus on family bonds and the emotional significance of home, Dilwali Diwali arrives on Netflix on November 5, offering a festive story centred on the idea that while a house can be upgraded, the feeling of home is something else altogether.
