Wife, son cant object to sale of 1.7 hectare land inherited by husband as it is not a joint family property, rules Bombay High Court

The Bombay High Court has ruled that land inherited by a husband is his separate property. His wife and children cannot object to its sale, even if he was a liquor addict. The court clarified that property inherited after 1956 devolves by succession, not survivorship. This means children have no birthright in such inherited land. The buyer's claim was upheld.
