Reopening of NH 2 not endorsement of unrestricted movement across buffer zones: KNO, UPF

Two Kuki-Zo groups, KNO and UPF, recently signed a pact with the Centre. They clarified that reopening National Highway 2 does not mean free movement between Meitei and Kuki-Zo areas. Buffer zones remain important. The groups urge against misinformation. They want a Union Territory with legislature for the Kuki-Zo people within India's constitution. The government is responsible for highway security.
