Centre appoints Saibal Chattopadhyay as NSC chairperson

Saibal Chattopadhyay, former IIM Calcutta director, is now the chairperson of the National Statistical Commission. Shubhabrata Das, Satyendra Bahadur Singh, and Madhavan Mukund join as part-time members. The commission includes a part-time chairperson, four part-time members with statistical expertise, the CEO of Niti Aayog as an ex-officio member, and the MoSPI secretary as its secretary.
