Three individuals were apprehended for allegedly orchestrating a murder plot. The victim's wife and her alleged lover hired a contract killer for the act. This hired assassin then shot the railway employee aboard a moving train. The victim sustained severe injuries and later succumbed during medical treatment. Investigations continue to apprehend any other individuals involved in the conspiracy.
The Patna High Court acquitted a man convicted of attempt to rape and wrongful confinement. The court found his actions insufficient to establish the serious charge of attempt to rape. Evidence presented did not meet the legal threshold for such a severe offense. The judges noted a lack of medical corroboration for the allegations. Consequently, the man was cleared of all charges by the high court.
Prashant Kishor and Neeraj Kumar Sinha filed nomination papers for the Bankipur Assembly bypoll. Kishor, making his electoral debut, was accompanied by his wife Jahnavi Das. Sinha, the BJP candidate, received blessings and support from party leaders. The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha leader was fielded after another candidate withdrew. Both candidates participated in roadshows before submitting their nomination documents.
Patna court granted anticipatory bail to educator Khan Sir and three staff members. The case involves a firing incident at Khan Global Studies Institute in early June. Two security guards also received bail after being arrested in connection with the incident. Investigation revealed the guards fired in the air from licensed arms in self-defense. Khan Sir had alleged a rival orchestrated the vandalism and firing at his institute.
An 82-year-old poet in Muzaffarpur was shocked by a bank balance of nearly Rs 759 crore. His disabled son's account also showed an equally massive figure, totaling over Rs 1,500 crore. The family believed it was a technical or banking system error, which officials later confirmed. This incident follows similar reports from other districts in Bihar with large erroneous credits.
