Karnataka gets 450 additional medical seats; introduces 15 per cent NRI quota in govt colleges

Karnataka secures 450 additional medical seats from the National Medical Commission for the 2025-26 academic year, addressing the growing demand for medical education. To boost financial independence, government medical colleges will introduce a 15% NRI quota with a fixed fee of Rs 25 lakh per seat. The newly sanctioned seats will be distributed among various medical colleges across the state.
