Meet Seiji Iigaya, 14: Python violin study wins $3,500 national science award

Seiji Iigaya, a 14-year-old violinist from New Jersey, won the First Place Science Award at a national contest. He conducted research on how bow movements impact the tone of violin strings. Using programming, he modeled and analyzed the dynamics of a vibrating violin string. His study provided insights into achieving expressive sound without harshness. Seiji's school received a grant to support local STEM projects as part of the award.
