France looks to give Rafale anti-radar punch with new Hammer variant

France aims to equip its Rafale jets with the Hammer XLR variant to enhance capabilities against enemy air defenses. This new weapon features a turbojet engine for extended-range strikes in heavily defended areas. The capability is expected to be operational by 2028 after the retirement of older systems. India, already using the standard Hammer, might benefit from this advanced variant in the future.
