Delaware sank 180-foot ship bought for $1 to create artificial reef

In a strategic move to enhance marine ecosystems, the retired fishing vessel F/V Calcasieu Pass has been sunk off the Delaware coast to function as an artificial reef. This initiative, aimed at supporting diverse aquatic species, involved meticulously clearing hazardous materials before the sinking. Environmental authorities will oversee the area, monitoring the growth and health of the marine habitats it spawns in the years to come.
