$23bn Trump-class battleship faces political storm as Democrats capture Congress

Democrats gained control of Congress after winning the 2026 midterm elections, which may impact Trump's battleship program. The first battleship, USS Defiant, is projected to cost around $23 billion and be operational by 2036.
