Revisiting Dasgaon, where a 23-year-old drank water from a well and broke a social order

Months before the Mahad Satyagraha of 1927, a similar symbolic act by the people of Dasgaon in Maharashtra took place. A group of about 300, led by Ramchandra Babaji More, drew water from a well and a lake and drank it. The satyagrahis were Dalits, implementing a resolution to open public water bodies to them.
