Heatwaves and ozone together increase Indias cardiac deaths: study

A peer-reviewed study reports that surface ozone reaches 85-110 g/m in northern India during heatwaves and exceeds the WHO guideline of 70 g/m in every region of the country. In 2024, roughly 830 more deaths were reported during the heatwave than the preceding days.
