Supreme Court slams misuse of PIL for publicity

The Supreme Court has expressed strong disapproval of the increasing misuse of Public Interest Litigation. Justice BV Nagarathna observed that PILs are now often used for private, publicity, financial, and political interests. The court emphasized that it will only entertain genuine and real Public Interest Litigations.
