SC bars illegal detention; orders normal Metro, rail, net services

The Supreme Court intervened to protect the rights of peaceful protesters against the actions of Delhi authorities. It directed that Metro and railway services operate normally while allowing the free movement of people. Authorities were instructed to avoid illegal detentions and review any restrictions imposed. The court took note of reports claiming police misconduct during the protests on Saturday. A further hearing on the matter is scheduled for Tuesday.
