Aswath S from Tamil Nadu achieved Grandmaster status, becoming India's 98th. He secured his third norm at the Pune International GM Round Robin tournament. Aswath took a break from chess for his Class 10 board examinations. His father, a chess coach, introduced him to the game at a young age. The young Grandmaster aims for higher ratings and world rankings.
