Federal judge temporarily blocks Trump plan to deport detained Afghans to Afghanistan

A federal judge in New York issued a temporary block on deportation plans for Afghans. This decision came after warnings from advocates and lawmakers about potential risks to their safety. They highlighted that returning these individuals could lead to persecution or even death. The government confirmed there are currently no planned flights for deporting Afghan nationals. The judicial order is set to expire soon, leaving many uncertain about their future.
