Delhi HC says 'Doosra' infringes Sourav Ganguly's personality rights but refuses to interfere with its screening

The Delhi High Court recognized that 'Doosra' seemingly infringes on Sourav Ganguly's personality rights. Justice Tejas Karia noted that the film commercially exploits Ganguly's identity, which raises legal issues. However, the court opted not to prevent the film's release, permitting its screening. Filmmakers must add a suitable disclaimer and submit a bank guarantee of Rs 2 crore. This case highlights the ongoing conflict between biographical film portrayals and individual rights.
