Child marriage: Progress made, but millions of girls still at risk in India, say experts

India still exhibits troubling child marriage rates, with one in three child brides globally residing in the country. However, regional disparities suggest that some states still face acute challenges regarding early marriages. Continued efforts and targeted strategies are deemed essential for reducing these rates before the 2030 target.
