Census 2027 begins with digital self-enumeration in phase I

India's Census 2027 has commenced with Phase I, the Houselisting and Housing Census. This significant undertaking introduces digital data capture and a self-enumeration option for citizens. President Murmu, Vice-President Radhakrishnan, and Prime Minister Modi have initiated the process. The self-enumeration facility is now active in eight States and Union Territories, with many households already participating.
