CEC Gyanesh Kumar row, DMK stand complicate Centre's delimitation plan

CEC Gyanesh Kumar's resignation complicates the Centre's plans for delimitation and restructuring of Lok Sabha constituencies. Opposition protests, particularly from DMK, BJD, BRS, and YSRCP, are raising concerns over the Election Commission's integrity. An alternative to expand the House would require a constitutional amendment that is politically challenging. The proposed Delimitation Bill, along with its commission structure, remains stalled due to lack of majority support.
