CBIC asks GST officers to stop arrests, curb roadside inspections

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has issued new guidelines for GST enforcement officers. These guidelines include stopping arrests and minimizing roadside inspections based on specific intelligence. Furthermore, show-cause notices will not be issued for amounts less than 10,000. The board aims to simplify compliance and reduce litigation for businesses. These changes are part of the enforcement reform agenda following the 57th GST Council meeting.
