Bihars GI-tagged Mithila Makhana expands global footprint, exports cross 7,000 tonnes

Union Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the international success of Bihar's GI-tagged Mithila Makhana in a recent post. The product's popularity is attributed to its nutritional benefits and farmers' dedication in the state. India exported over 7,000 metric tonnes of makhana to various international destinations during the last fiscal year. The government is supporting the sector with new initiatives, including a dedicated National Makhana Board.
