Barring eight days, Andhra relied on borrowings from RBI during 2024-25: Report

Andhra Pradesh borrowed heavily in 2024-25, availing Rs 1.72 lakh crore through special drawing facilities, ways and means advances, and overdrafts. This led to Rs 303 crore in interest payments. The state's revenue deficit and fiscal deficit surpassed targets. Borrowings were primarily for daily expenses, impacting capital expenditure and debt sustainability.
