Azgaib Shaheed Mazar, mosque razed within Kashi railway station premises amid heavy security deployment

The Azgaib Shaheed Mazar shrine and a mosque at Kashi Railway Station in Varanasi were demolished following a court order. Officials stated the land belonged to the Railways and was encroached upon. The demolition occurred amid heavy security. No incidents were reported. The issue surfaced during a 2024 railway project survey. Protection to the demolition drive was provided by the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and Railway Protection Force (RPF).
