Ashok Lahiri takes charge as Niti VC

Economist Ashok Kumar Lahiri has assumed the role of vice chairman at Niti Aayog, succeeding Suman Bery. A former chief economic adviser and Finance Commission member, Lahiri's extensive experience is expected to bolster the think tank's evidence-based policymaking and economic transformation initiatives. The Aayog was recently reconstituted with Lahiri as vice chairman and seven new full-time members.
