Mumbai: ACB registers case against state tax inspector for Rs 1 lakh bribe demand

A State Tax Inspector at Mumbai's GST Bhavan, Avinash Meshram, faces charges for allegedly demanding a bribe. The Anti-Corruption Bureau registered a case after an Accounts Manager complained Meshram sought Rs 1 lakh for filing annual GST returns. Following verification, the inspector reportedly agreed to accept Rs 30,000.
