Maharashtra announces 6-month reduction in VAT on aviation fuel; airfares likely to stabilise

Maharashtra has slashed Value Added Tax (VAT) on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) to 7% from 18% for six months, effective May 15. This move aims to alleviate high fuel costs for airlines, stabilize airfares amid the West Asia crisis and summer travel demand, and reduce operational expenses.
