Covid-era investment scam resurfaces: French firm accuses Mumbai couple of cheating it of Rs 7 crore

A Hong Kong-based French company has accused two Mumbai residents of cheating them of over 6.8 crore by inducing investment in COVID-19 supplies. The accused allegedly presented forged MoUs with non-existent companies to secure funds for disposable masks, sanitisers, and test kits. The Economic Offences Wing is now investigating the international fraud case.
