Central Railway plans 26-km emergency road in KarjatLonavala ghat to aid stranded passengers

Central Railway plans to build a 26-km emergency road along the Karjat-Lonavala ghat section to evacuate stranded train passengers during landslides and other disruptions. The road will improve emergency access and relief efforts, while restoration of the rain-damaged third railway line continues following severe disruptions earlier this month.
