Maharashtra witnessed the seizure of over Rs 660 crore worth of illicit items, including cash and alcohol, during the assembly election enforcement period. The Election Commission's C-Vigil app proved instrumental in addressing 8,668 out of 8,678 complaints, ensuring a transparent election process.
Mumbai witnessed an increase in voter registration since the last Lok Sabha elections. The city now has over one crore registered voters. The upcoming assembly elections will have 410 candidates competing across 36 constituencies. Over 10,000 polling booths will be set up, with security measures in place. Authorities have addressed election code violations and seized illicit items.
Former Delhi Transport Minister and prominent AAP figure, Kailash Gahlot, resigned from the party and joined the BJP. Gahlot cited recent controversies, including the Sheshmahal controversy, and unfulfilled promises as reasons for his departure. He accused the AAP of prioritizing its own agenda over the needs of the people.
