Section 54 relief: ITAT allows tax exemption on 23 flats, wipes out 8 crore demand

A Bengaluru ITAT ruling allowed a landowner to claim capital gains exemption on 23 flats received under a redevelopment deal. The relief, however, applies to older joint development agreements executed before key tax law changes.
