Can the government impose taxes without a law? What Article 265 says

Article 265 of the Indian Constitution states that no tax can be levied or collected except by the authority of law. In simple terms, every tax must be backed by a valid law passed by Parliament or a state legislature, preventing arbitrary taxation by the government.
