Declining Registrations for CAT 2026: Is Interest in IIM MBAs Diminishing?

The registrations for CAT 2026 have seen a decline, with only 2.84 lakh candidates applying this year compared to 2.95 lakh in 2025. This trend raises questions about the interest in MBA programs from IIMs. Factors such as high tuition fees, job market fluctuations, and alternative education paths are influencing students' decisions. While CAT remains a key entry point for IIMs, candidates are also considering other exams like XAT and SNAP. The admit card for CAT 2026 will be released on November 4, with varying application fees for different categories. Dive into the details to understand the implications of these changes.
