US national arrested while attempting to enter Nepal through unauthorised route in UP's Maharajganj

A US national was captured by Maharajganj police near the Nepal border while trying to navigate an unauthorized footpath into Nepal. The man presented inconsistent narratives regarding his identity and travel background, asserting he had visited numerous countries and served in the US Navy. Following his arrest and placement in jail, embassy officials were alerted.
