Nawabs role in Battle of Panipat

The Third Battle of Panipat in 1761 saw the Nawab of Awadh, Shuja-ud-Daulah, play a pivotal role. Despite past conflicts, he ultimately allied with Ahmad Shah Abdali against the Marathas. Following Abdali's victory, Shuja-ud-Daulah demonstrated remarkable humanity by saving thousands of Maratha survivors and ensuring proper rites for their fallen chief.
