Delhi High Court Halts St. Stephens College Recruitment Amid Irregularities

The Delhi High Court has intervened to suspend the recruitment process for assistant professors at St. Stephens College after uncovering significant irregularities. The controversy stems from appointments made in May 2026, which violated established recruitment protocols. An internal investigation led to the dismissal of two faculty members, while the court has mandated that no further actions can be taken without its approval. The college claims its rights as a minority institution, while Delhi University insists on adherence to its recruitment rules. This situation raises critical questions about the integrity of the hiring process at the institution.
