5 places in India experiencing intense snowfall and what travellers should know

Its the first snowfall of the year 2026 and travellers across India are happy with this winter spell after a long time. Given a powerful Western Disturbance, the Himalayan regions are experiencing heavy and intense snowfall to northern India. As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), snow will continue in higher elevations in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
