Mundathikode fireworks accident: The spark that turned fatal

On April 21, a deadly explosion at a fireworks unit at Mundathikode claimed at least 12 lives, injured more than 24, and damaged at least 50 houses nearby. The unit was set amid vast paddy fields and housed multiple sheds storing large quantities of explosive materials. Investigations are under way.
