Mohammed Shami reflects on India ambition, says 'hope should always be there'

Mohammed Shami opted to take a break in Bengals Ranji Trophy 2026 clash against Services at the Palam Air Force Ground A in New Delhi. He was reported to be suffering from a niggle, but speaking to the media after Day 1, the pacer clarified that he is doing fine and will be returning to action soon. After Bengals win inside three days against Services, Shami further explained his reasons for sitting out, stating that the surface demanded more spinners in the mix and he could barely contribute in such conditions.
