Asian Games bed crunch: Japan says more than expected athletes caused trouble

Japan's Olympic chief, Seiko Hashimoto, reported a higher than expected number of participants at the Asian Games. Local organizers anticipated around 15,000 attendees but faced over 17,000, resulting in accommodation shortages. Athletes experienced significant transport issues, including long waits at the airport and inadequate bus services. Several sports saw poor attendance, including the opening ceremony, which had many empty seats.
