IIT Kanpur to Pioneer Medical Education with MBBS and PhD Programs

IIT Kanpur is making history by becoming the first IIT in India to offer medical education, including MBBS and PhD programs, alongside its engineering curriculum. A 450-bed super-specialty hospital is set to open by April 2027, providing essential healthcare services to the region. The institute will also begin offering MTech and PhD programs in medical fields in 2027. Additionally, IIT Kanpur will oversee cybersecurity for a new data center in Lucknow and establish 'U-Hubs' to support deep-tech startups in the state. This initiative marks a significant step in integrating medical education with engineering at IIT Kanpur.
