Expert Committee Proposes Major Changes to NEET PG Admission System

A 12-member expert committee has recommended a significant overhaul of the NEET PG admission system, proposing a shift from a percentile-based to a rank-based merit system. This change aims to enhance the transparency and fairness of the admissions process while maintaining educational standards. The recommendations come in response to ongoing issues with cut-off reductions that have allowed candidates with negative scores to qualify. The proposed changes are set for implementation in 2027, pending further proceedings by the Supreme Court. This article delves into the details of the committee's findings and the implications for future medical admissions.
