US proposes space launch rule changes, vows regulatory overhaul

The Federal Aviation Administration is planning regulatory changes for commercial space launches and re-entries. It aims to facilitate at least 1,000 launches annually by the year 2030. These proposed adjustments include updating definitions about mandatory flight aborts and clarifying associated requirements. Last year saw only 178 launches, with significant involvement from SpaceX. This overhaul signals a major shift in the regulatory landscape for commercial space activities.
