US crude, fuel inventories fell last week, EIA says

American oil reserves saw a significant drop last week. Crude oil inventories decreased by 3.3 million barrels. Gasoline stocks also fell by 2.6 million barrels. Distillate stockpiles, including diesel, declined by 2.1 million barrels. These reductions occurred as demand for these products surged. Oil futures initially reacted to news but later recovered.
