SC seeks responses on plea to exempt doctors from Consumer Protection Act

The Supreme Court asked the Health, Consumer Affairs ministries, and NMC to respond on whether doctors should be excluded from the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. A PIL by the Association of Health Care Providers argues that including medical professionals undermines trust in doctor-patient relationships, encourages defensive medicine, raises costs, and leads to inconsistent rulings.
